A man has suffered several broken ribs after he was struck by a van on Torquay seafront. The collision, which happened at 8.30pm on Thursday, led to Torbay Road being closed for three hours while emergency services attended the scene. The man was taken to Torbay Hospital for treatment. A police spokesman said: "We understand the pedestrian stepped off the central reservation and was in collision with a white Peugeot van."
