A lorry leaking fuel on the M5 was tackled by firefighters from Burnham-on-Sea and Bridgwater, late on Thursday. Two fire engines and a water carrier were sent to the incident, northbound between junctions 21 and 22, amid reports that the vehicle was on fire. Crews found the lorry was not alight but had a ruptured fuel tank and had spilt about 1,300 litres of diesel. Officers used 100 absorbent pads and a boom to deal with the spill.
