Lanivet Parish Church has been closed after it was damaged by a falling tree.
High winds last Thursday brought down the tree which struck the roof and porch of the Grade 1 listed building.
Bodmin rector, the Rev. Canon Graham Minors, said the damage was not as bad as first thought, but careful restoration would be required to the 15th century church.
"There has been quite a lot of damage to the porch, but the damage to the roof is not as bad as it could have been,'' he said.
The rector is due to meet an architect and loss adjustor this week to ascertain the extent of the damage and the likely cost of repair
