A COUPLE were held up by a gunman and an accomplice as they walked down a Newquay street on Monday night.
The robbers approached the man and woman on Glamis Road at around 10.25pm and demanded cash.
One of them produced a weapon – believed to be a BB gun – and checked the man's pockets after being told the couple had nothing worth stealing. The two men then ran off empty-handed towards Henver Road.
A police spokesman said: "Neither victim was injured as a result of the incident. Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the suspects or from anyone who has any information regarding their identity."

The second offender was also white, of a similar age and height, and wearing a dark hooded top or jacket.
