Children's Hospice South West (CHSW) is offering the chance to experience an inspiring three-day cycling challenge which includes a rare opportunity to visit each of the charity's three children's hospices. The charity's annual 'Ride for Precious Lives' event – a three- day, 210 mile sponsored bike ride – will take place from July 11-13, 2014. The event will see up to 100 intrepid cyclists take on their own 'Tour of Britain', enjoying the stunning scenery of the South West. The event's route will take in three counties, visiting each of the charity's three hospices; Little Harbour in St Austell - Cornwall, Little Bridge House in Barnstaple - Devon and Charlton Farm in Wraxall - Somerset. The hospice visits will offer cyclists a chance to learn more about the wide range of support CHSW offers life-limited children and their families, which includes respite care, music therapy and activities for siblings as well as palliative and emergency care. Ian Fraser, CHSW fundraising manager said: "Ride for Precious Lives is now in its sixth year and what always stands out is the team spirit amongst the riders. The fact that this event actually allows cyclists to gain a first-hand insight into the charity they are supporting really motivates the riders and results in an amazing camaraderie."
