POST-mortem examination results showing the causes of death of a Carbis Bay couple found at home have been revealed.
Derisa and Jonathan Trenchard were found dead at their home in Polwithen Drive on October 2.
Last week Cornwall Coroner Emma Carlyon opened and then adjourned inquests into their deaths. She told the court the body of Derisa Trenchard had been identified and, following a post-mortem examination, the cause of death was given as head injuries.
Dr Carlyon then opened the inquest into the death of Jonathan Trenchard. She said the post-mortem examination gave his cause of death as stab wounds to the neck and chest.
It has previously been established that on the day the bodies were found neighbours had seen the couple's 13-year-old son Joel leave for school and the couple were then spotted walking their dogs.
The alarm was raised when Mr Trenchard failed to show up for work at a local factory and his wife – known locally as Reesy – did not arrive at her job as a legal secretary.
Police previously said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.
The couple's two grown-up sons, Josh and Chris, who returned from university to live in St Ives, are currently caring for their brother with support from friends and teachers from St Ives School.
