A woman who walked out to sea with the intention of taking her own life was rescued by St Ives lifeboat crews in the middle of the night.
The alarm was raised at 1am after Police alerted the Coastguard that a woman was in the water at Porthmeor beach.
Two RNLI lifeboats and the St Ives Rescue Team were launched and used lights to find the woman.
She was brought to the shore where she was treated for hyperthermia and slight water inhalation.
