A £50,000 GRANT will allow Cornwall Hospice Care (CHC) to open another three shops in the next year.
The cash has come from the Superfast Cornwall Fund – funded by the Regional Growth Fund – and was donated yesterday.
It will help the charity grow by implementing a new Electronic Point of Sale (EPoS) and stock management system across its 27 shops in Cornwall. This will improve Gift Aid capture on donations, increasing revenue and allowing the charity to open three more shops, creating 13 jobs over the next 12 months, the charity said. Although CHC is a registered charity, its shops operate as a business to generate an optimum amount of income.
Business Minister Michael Fallon said the award was "fantastic news for an important charity".
