If you go down to the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise...
And such was the case at a Westcountry country park when people encountered the electric hum of recently-arrived Segway personal transporters.
The two-wheeled wonders were welcomed to Siblyback Lake in style, with South East Cornwall MP Sheryll Murray taking part in the official launch of Siblyback Segway Adventure.
Fresh from a round of constituency visits, the Tory MP stood astride the two-wheeled, battery-powered machines and did what comes naturally... smile, giggle and let out a belly-rolling laugh.
"You have not only made my day but you have made my week," Mrs Murray beamed as she motored along the woodland surrounding the man-made reservoir.
"I am loving this... I really must come back again."
Siblyback Segway Adventure has been three years in the making, a perfect partnership between the South West Lakes Trust and Liskeard-based company Glide and Grin.
"This is a great addition to the wide range of activities already available at Siblyback," said Tommy Haydu, South West Lakes Trust Bodmin Moor development manager.
"The cycle path around the lake is ideal for walking, wheelchair users and Segways as well." The two-wheeled battery powered machines, which can reach a top speed of 15mph, are now available to hire throughout the summer for 90-minute sessions.
The prices range from £20 per child and £30 for adults.
Philip Head, director of Glide and Grin said: "The location is ideal for providing a new, unique, exciting and fun experience for young and old." For safety reasons Segway users must weigh at least seven stone but no more than 18 stone, be at least 4ft 4in tall and aged ten or above.
As well, children aged between ten and 15 must be accompanied by a supervising adult. All users will be trained and supervised.
