One of two people killed in a crash in Cornwall has been named. Police confirmed that Bridget Toy, 61, was one of the victims in the collision at Penryn, near Falmouth, on Wednesday. A man who also died has not yet been identified but is understood to come from Truro. Both were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash when their silver BMW estate collided with a white Fiat Ducato truck. A 65-year-old man from Penryn suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Treliske. The driver of the truck, a 22-year-old from Penzance, suffered minor injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene. Emergency services were called to the junction of the B3292 and Browns Hill at around 12.50pm. Six ambulances and an air ambulance attended the incident, and the road was closed until past 7pm as an investigation was conducted. Sergeant Phillip Grigg, of Devon and Cornwall Police, said the accident had been "traumatic" for all emergency services personnel involved. Police said the next-of-kin of the man and woman killed had been informed.
