Aircraft from Westcountry naval airbases have taken part in a flypast in Liverpool to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic.
Fleet Air Arm aircraft, representing Royal Naval Air Stations at Culdrose in West Cornwall and Yeovilton in Somerset, proudly formed up to be led by one of the last two operational Swordfish aircraft in Britain at the event on Thursday.
Lieutenant Ian King and Lieutenant Jonny Lynas were watched by thousands in the city, including the Princess Royal, as they flew 771 Search and Rescue Helicopters from Culdrose.
Lieutenant King said: "It was a great honour to take part in this formation that saluted the dedication and bravery of the men who served during the War. It was a beautiful gin-clear blue day."
