PEOPLE living near Hayle are being asked to help track down a bright yellow parrot which is missing from a wildlife centre.
Goldie, who has lived at Paradise Park for around four years, was being trained to take part in a bird show when he disappeared last Monday.
The pigeon-sized bird is thought to have been spooked by a falling leaf and then got carried away by the wind.
David Woolcock, a curator at the park, said: "We think he is still somewhere in the Hayle area.
"He was one of one or two that we were training up for the free-flying bird show.
"He should be absolutely fine; the weather isn't a problem for him at all and he will probably find something to eat, but we want to track him down.
"He is bright yellow and we wouldn't want him to be mobbed by crows, although he's got a good beak on him so he should be able to look after himself."
Staff from Paradise Park have been searching for the parrot since last Monday but are now appealing for help from the public.
Mr Woolcock said: "He's probably sitting in a tree in someone's back garden; we just need to find out which garden." If you spot Goldie, call Paradise Park on 01736 753365 or 07979 770931 after 7pm.
