Cornwall Council has frozen ticket prices at Truro's park-and-ride until April next year. The freeze for 2013 came on the back of three price hikes in less than two years between 2010 and 2012. Tim Wood, head of transport at Cornwall Council, said: "Truro Park and Ride continues to provide a high quality and convenient service. "Passengers value the service with 96.8 per cent of users saying they are very satisfied or satisfied." The decision to freeze prices this year was taken by officers at Cornwall Council rather than elected members. Day rover tickets cost £1.80 with family tickets, for two adults and up to four children aged between 5 and 15 years old, costing £3.60. £1 day rover tickets are available for holders of an English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) pass. Tickets are valid on the day of issue and can be used for any number of trips throughout the day on this service. The Council estimates that 550 cars are taken off the roads around the city centre each day as a result of the park and ride service. Buses run between 7am and 7pm, Monday to Saturday (excluding bank holidays), running every 10 minutes during peak hours and every 15 minutes off peak.
