Truro City manager Lee Hodges has admitted that he has been impressed by his crop of youngsters in pre-season play, following Saturday's 3-2 home win over Falmouth Town at Treyew Road. Summer find Keifer Moore scored a spectacular 76th-minute overhead winner for the Blue Square Bet South side, after replacing the injured Stewart Yetton. Hodges said: "Keifer is about six foot three or four tall and showed enough footballing ability to score a spectacular winner. "He's still a bit raw but he has definitely got something. I was pleased with him on Saturday and with Ben Williams at left-back – for me, those two stood out – and I think we might have found the place for Dan Green, at right-back. He looks good there." Yetton limped off with a hamstring injury after heading Truro ahead in the seventh minute, and then skipper Jake Ash doubled the home side's advantage before Falmouth hit back with goals either side of half time – through Dan McGhee and Matt Shiels – to draw level. Hodges said: "Yettsy has tweaked his hamstring and we will just have to see how it is, but I think early signs are for at least a couple weeks." Following a draw, a defeat and a win in pre-season, Truro's next scheduled friendly is at Evo-Stik League Southern Division One South and West side Tiverton Town next Saturday. Mark Saunders' Tiverton side were beaten 2-0 at home by Chippenham Town in a pre-season friendly on Friday and tomorrow night they are set to host Plymouth Argyle at Ladysmead (7.45pm). Newly-promoted Southern League Premier side Bideford maintained their unbeaten start to pre-season following Saturday's 2-2 comeback draw with Dorchester Town, of Blue Square Bet South, at the Sports Ground. Sean Joyce's Robins have now gone five friendlies without defeat. Bideford trailed 2-0 before skipper Matt Hockley and trialist left-winger George Swann scored second-half goals to restore parity. Joyce said: "Results are not the most important thing in pre-season but you don't want to lose heavily, so obviously I'm pleased that we have not. "We are unbeaten in five friendlies and two or three players have popped up, and that's what pre-season is about. We've got two home games this week, Bodmin on Tuesday and Torquay United on Friday." Willand Rovers earned a 2-1 win over Cullompton Rangers at Silver Street. George Rogers and Alex Greening were on target for Rovers before Liam Dart pulled one back for Rangers.
