If you have ever fancied trying you hand at building a boat then a new set of courses at the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth is for you.
It is offering people an opportunity to take part in a new series of traditional skills courses run by the Boat Building Academy.
They will take place in the museum workshop from next month until November and range from sharpening tools and cutting dovetails to replacing planks and repairing ply dinghys.
And there is a wooden boat restoration course for those with their own boats and a chance for people to carve knees with their names on to become part of a gig.
Yvonne Green, principal of the academy, said: "The Maritime Museum is an inspirational place to run courses and we will bring to it our internationally respected method of hands-on training, taught by instructors from Lyme Regis
"Learning new skills at the heart of the museum will be a tremendous experience.People can participate in a single course for the fun of a weekend by the sea doing something practical, or seriously build their skills by joining a number of courses."
