Investigations have been launched after an unmarked police car crashed with another vehicle on a busy road in Cornwall.
The police car was not responding to an emergency call.
It happened at a junction on the A38 heading towards Looe around a mile from Menheniot just after 1pm on Thursday.
The male police officer behind the wheel of the Volvo suffered minor injuries during the impact.
The male driver of the other vehicle involved also suffered minor injuries, including pain to his neck. He was taken by paramedics to Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, and later discharged.
According to police, two investigations will be carried out. The first is a standard road collision investigation while a second will be mounted because a police car was involved.
A police spokesman said it was too early to tell which of the drivers had been at fault.
He said: "We will have to await the outcome of both investigations to find out what happened."
The carriageway was reopened shortly after 4pm after the cars had been removed and debris swept away.
