An 86-year-old man was taken to hospital in a critical condition after he was hit by a car in Devon. The pensioner, of Newton Abbot, was taken to Derriford hospital, in Plymouth, after a crash near Stover on Saturday. The driver, a 46-year-old woman from Bovey Tracey, was unhurt. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at Whitehall Lodge shortly before 5.25pm on the A382 between Churchills Roundabout and the Stover Vauxhall car dealership. Both parties were said to have been travelling towards Drumbridge.
