PENRYN 27 BUDE 12 Following their big defeat last week at Bideford, Penryn got back to winning ways and five league points with a good win in the Tribute Western Counties West Cornish Derby against Bude at the Memorial Ground, reports Bill Hooper.  The heavy pitch rain and hail showers made running and handling difficult but the Borough coped the better in the challenging conditions with their back row of Grant Randlesome, Daniel Booth and skipper Jordan Rose outstanding.  Fly-half Jake Seviour kicked an opening penalty to put Penryn ahead.   It took until the half-hour mark for Penryn to get their opening try scored by the rampant Booth with Seviour adding the extras with a fine conversion.  Penryn had a second try on the board before half-time following a good break by scrum-half Tian Peacock from his own half, his inside pass to his skipper saw Rose in under the posts, Seviour's second conversion giving the Borough a handy 17-0 at half-time.  Penryn maintained the momentum after the break prop Matt Williams went close but was forced into touch.  The third try was not long in coming and was probably the try of the match. Full-back Alex Ducker began the move with Rose (twice) Booth and Seviour all involved before the final pass put in winger Richy Bray in the clubhouse corner. Seviour couldn't add the extras.  Bude finally got some reward with a well-worked try scored by replacement Richie Dicker.  Penryn got back downfield and following some good pressure got their bonus point try scored by replacement Dan Laity.  Bude got some consolation with a second try following a cross-kick taken well by centre Duncan Tout to score out wide. Dan Pearce kicked a fine conversion to make the final score 27-12.  Penryn 27 pts  Tries- Booth, Rose, Bray, Laity, Conversions – Seviour(2), Penalty- Seviour  Bude 12 pts  Tries – R Dicker, Tout, Conversion - Pearce  Penryn: A Ducker, R Bray, D Fisher, W Paine, J Martin, J Seviour, T Peacock; K Oldfield, B Birkett, M Williams, B Trevaskis, R Hancock, D Booth, Jordan Rose (capt), G Randlesome.  Replacements (all used): D Laity, B Keay, Joel Rose  Bude: K Speare, R Herzog, D Tout, A Yates, D Pearce, J Chalkey, O Mounce; J Bolt, P Cholwill, B Soby, L Dunkin (capt), W Kingdon, L Statton, J Farrar, J Wilson.  Replacements (all used): B Lucas, C Dicker, R Dicker  Referee: Jane Pizzi (CRRS)
