A Truro musician whose drum kit, worth £2,000, disappeared from a garage near Camborne is offering a £100 reward for it to be returned.
Darren Curgenven, the former drummer with Random Acts of Panic, had been storing his treasure kit at a band mate's garage in Beacon.
The road worker, who is currently working on the scheme to update Truro's sewers, said he was devastated by the loss.
The kit, which includes a distinctive snare drum made by Chris Newell, went missing from the garage on Pendarves Street sometime between September 6 and 11.
Mr Curgenven told the West Briton: "They were being stored there because I don't drive. My kit was being transported from gig to gig in the singer's van and when they were not being used they were stored in the garage."
He reported the missing kit to police who are currently investigating the incident.
The drummer said that without his Yamaha beech custom kit he is unable to play and has already turned down gigs.
He said musicians across Cornwall have already vowed to keep an eye for the drums in case they are offered for sale.
He has posted an appeal on his Facebook site which has attracted many hits from supporters promising to look out for the red drum kit.
He added: "In Cornwall it would be difficult to sell because of the sheer number of people that know me and my kit. It is quite a rare set up and hugely important to me.
"I've toured it up and down the country and recorded a successful EP with it. It is one of a kind and custom made and bought for me as a present so its not just about the uniqueness of it."
