THE reward being offered after two kittens were dropped from a moving vehicle and killed on Penryn bypass has risen to more than £600.
A driver saw a hand reach from the passenger window of an old-style red VW Golf and drop two objects at around 9.15am on August 23.
These turned out to be kittens who ran into the road and were run over.
A spokesman for Falmouth police said: "We have received a large number of enquiries regarding the incident.
"This incident is being treated seriously and has been allocated to the local wildlife crime officer (PC Barry Nicholas).
"The investigation is ongoing at this time."
Last week the West Briton reported a reward of £400 offered for information leading to a conviction, which has been increased by outraged donors.
Ali Rowe, a volunteer with the rescue charity Last Chance Hotel, wrote on Facebook of the "criminal act of cowardice and cruelty", adding: "Someone, somewhere knows something.
"These vile people will be caught."
A petition started by Donna Pill calling for 'justice for the bypass kittens" has nearly 600 signatures.
