LISKEARD is set to be filled with festival cheer this weekend as musicians, entertainers and performers take to the streets during the town's inaugural music and arts festival.
Organised by the Liskeard Town Team, the group which scooped £100,000 of government cash to help revitalise the high street under the Portas' Pilot scheme, Liskeard Live kicks off this Friday with a jazz supper at the Lord Eliot Hotel.
A film showing of the Great Gatsby will be held at the Liskerrett Centre on Friday evening.
The festival continues with a range of performances around the town on Saturday during the day.
Storytelling and book signings from children's author Andrew Beasley and United Writers authors Eric Kemp and Ted Sherrell will take place in the town centre, alongside an art and crafts workshop organised by Cornwall Scrap Store.
Samba dancers and circus workshops will also be dotted around the town.
On Saturday evening a concert is being held in the town hall featuring Welsh two-piece Golden Fable and headliners Cherry Ghost.
Sally Hawken, town team chairman, said: "We're really excited Cherry Ghost has agreed to come and headline our event as we are sure they will pull in the crowds. We have made sure we have something for everyone."
