Police are appealing for witnesses to an unprovoked attack on a lone female while she was walking her dog in Praze an Beeble, near Camborne.
The 21-year-old woman was struck over the head with an unknown object while walking in the Trethannas Gardens estate.
She was left extremely shaken by the incident, which happened on August 8 at 9.30pm.
PC Lesley Loring, of Helston police said it was a "highly unusual" attack on a sprawling estate which has around 100 houses.
She said: "It was well lit and in an open area. Anyone with information should call 101 quoting the crime reference number AH/13/997."
