READY STEADY COOK

TV's ever-popular Ready Steady Cook challenge is taking to the road on a nationwide live tour and it's stopping off at Torquay's Princess Theatre on Tuesday, October 8 – the only Westcountry date.

It's a concept that puts chefs on the spot, with selected members of the public supplying them with a carrier bag full of ingredients to turn into a delicious and winning meal against the clock.

The cooks in the spotlight in Torquay will be Richard Phillips and Tony Tobin, with Russell Grant playing on-stage host. Richard started his career at the Savoy Hotel in London and worked alongside the Roux Brothers at Le Gavroche before becoming head chef for Marco Pierre White; by 29 he had his own Michelin starred restaurant – Thackeray's in Kent – and he's a well-seasoned TV chef. Tony is chef-patron of The Dining Room in Reigate in Surrey, and has appeared on Ready Steady Cook more than 300 times since 1992. Previously best known as an astrologer to the stars, Russell won the nation's hearts in the 2011 series of Strictly Come Dancing and has renewed his stage musical career to great effect.

Tickets are now on sale for the show, which will also offer the audience plenty of insider kitchen tips.
