THE Fowey RNLI have received a welcome boost for the second year running from the Fowey Tightliners Sea Angling Club's Fishing Frenzy event.
On Sunday, July 21, 11 boats laden with 33 anglers took to the waters from Fowey Town Quay in a bid to catch as many fish as possible in the good-natured competition.
Due to a strong easterly wind blowing on the day, fishing was confined to the harbour, but the anglers still managed an impressive catch, with the auctioned haul bringing in more than £800 for the Fowey lifeboats.
Following the fishing frenzy the overall competition winner was Josh Davies for most points and species of fish caught.
Ed Lawrence and Steve Ellis organised the event which also included a raffle and singing on the quay.
The RNLI fundraisers ran a barbecue and the all-weather Trent class lifeboat, the Maurice and Joyce Hardy, was tied to the quay and opened for visitors.
