Thousands of people flocked to the annual Woolsery and District Agricultural Show, which is set to be the biggest yet.
The one-day show, at Clovelly Court, Higher Clovelly, opened yesterday morning at 9am with exhibitors and members flooding through the gates.
The unexpected dry weather encouraged people to stay for the day and enjoy the various entertainment around the showground.
A vintage collection was on display as well as an art and craft tent, food and drink stalls while a series of animals were shown throughout the day.
Secretary Pat Martin said the number of sheep entries has increased from 250 last year to 300 this year. Youngsters are encouraged to be animal handlers.
Pat said: "The Woolsery Show used to be a lot bigger but now it seems to be building back up again. We have a big emphasis on youngsters being involved in the show with them showing animals."
Nikki Pickard, from Bideford, took her two daughters Nell, four, and Holly, six, to the show.
Nikki said: "It is just a nice day out for the kids. I am really into horses so it is nice to see those as well, this show is really good because it is so local."
David and Tracey Grigg run Venton Farm and their daughters Joanna, 11, and Julie, 7, were also showing the cattle.
Tracey said: "Woolsery is a really nice show to be at because it is fun and all the others exhibitors are local, it is not as scary as showing at national competitions."
