An airman has hung up his flying helmet and goggles for the last time after a long career spanning 28 years.
Warrant Officer Aircrewman Andy Burry celebrated the milestone at Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose, near Helston, before moving to a desk job at headquarters.
He said his last sortie was very special.
"This has been my very last flight before leaving the squadron and taking up a position at Navy Command in Portsmouth as Aviation Branch Manager, next month.
"It's a non flying job and I'll miss the excitement and challenges of squadron life.
"I've had a fantastic flying career and would do it all again given half the chance," he said.
WO Burry is currently the most senior non-commissioned officer and is Squadron Warrant Officer at 824 Naval Air Squadron at Culdrose.
He has served on many of the Fleet Air Arm's anti-submarine units and has seen active service in Iraq.
WO Burry, who joined the Royal Navy in 1981, said he was proud to have his last flying tour with 824 and to have overseen the introduction of Merlin 2 into service at Culdrose.
