Northcott Theatre, Exeter, Thursday to Saturday

Billy Wilder's classic 1959 romantic comedy, Some Like It Hot, still tops the popularity polls over half a century later. Set against the backdrop of prohibition, saxophone player Joe (Tony Curtis) and his friend Jerry (Jack Lemmon), a double-bass player, inadvertently witness the St Valentine's Day massacre.

They have to go on the run disguised as women – Josephine and Daphne – and get jobs with an all-female band where Sugar Kane (Marilyn Monroe) is the lead singer.

These familiar characters – and the actors who play them – have been transported to a new location.

In new musical Some Like It Hotter we meet them again in April 2013 when they are reunited in heaven's waiting room.
