One of the newest "foodie" festivals on the culinary map has staged a successful follow up to its impressive debut.
Organisers of the Looe Food and Drink Festival yesterday said they were on course for 10,000 visitors to the two-day show.
The total attendance smashes last year's attendance by more than 3,000.
The Taste South East Cornwall event has registered on the national circuit, attracting visitors from around the country.
Festival organiser Danny Gill said: "It has been a fantastic weekend.
"Cornwall is fast becoming a genuine food centre.
"There is a foodie circuit now people see what's on and base a long weekend around it," he added.
"One couple from Stroud said they just saw the website and just came down – it has been absolutely packed with a fantastic atmosphere."
Visitors packed into a new pavilion to browse the 40 trade stands – up from 32 last year – in the Millpool car park alongside the picturesque East and West Looe rivers.
They also watched a series of cooking demonstrations by local and celebrity chefs, including Nick Barclay, from the Blue Plate in Seaton, Paul Ripley, a former Michelin star holder, Joe Sardari and from the Old Sail Loft/Simply Fish, Dom Sadler and Julian Clemens.
Yesterday Jacques Marchal donned the whites to show off his kitchen skills alongside Jono Hancock and Jack Darlington of Trawlers, Ben Palmer and Matt Read.
