Two people had to be released from their overturned vehicle after a road crash at Carthew near St Austell early yesterday morning. The incident happened on the Greensplat side of Carthew just after 4am and the fire brigade said the car was left "in a precarious position down an embankment" as a result. Crews from St Austell stabilised the car before using crash rescue equipment to remove the two people, who were then taken to Royal Cornwall Hospital Treliske with minor injuries.
