A line-up of beauties swapped bikinis for blue jeans and T-shirts as the weather turned chilly in the Devon resort which plays host to this year's Miss England contest.

The 2013 final will be streamed live from the Riviera International Centre in Torquay.

Reigning champion Charlotte Holmes, who is from Torpoint and won Miss Devon and Plymouth before being crowned Miss England 2012, will relinquish her title at the show, on Sunday.

Hopefuls from Newcastle to Wiltshire, London to Manchester, Oxfordshire and South Yorkshire have been a regular feature in the town of late, posing in swimwear and lounging on the top deck of a luxury yacht.

Linda Hill of the Torbay Tourism Association said the show was a good advert for the English Riviera and would help put the seaside town on the map. "This is very exciting as it will allow the residents and holidaymakers to be a part of the finals," she added.

"The Miss England finals is giving Torbay an amazing boost and a fantastic exposure to our resort."

The top 15 finalists at the conference centre will be whittled down to one, who will be entered in the Miss World 2013 competition in Indonesia later in the year.

The show will be broadcast from 7.30pm by Silverstream TV and viewers will be able to watch the proceedings from the Miss England website.
