Starting at Fairfield in Redruth on Wednesday

This year Cornwall's Miracle Theatre have chosen Samuel Beckett's Waiting For Godot as their summer touring production, which they will be taking to outdoor venues across the South West, Wales and London over the next couple of months, starting this week in their home county. Miracle have made a virtue of squeezing the comedy out of even the darkest of scripts, but director and Miracle founder Bill Scott promises that audiences will be given what Beckett intended. Describing the novelist and playwright as having the "universal and timeless appeal of Shakespeare", he adds: "This play may have the reputation of being 'high-brow' – but only among people who have never seen it. In fact, it is very funny and extremely moving."
