The work done by the British Wool Marketing Board on behalf of Cornish sheep farmers is being explained at the show by a team of staff and board members.
The board is the only organisation in the world that collects, grades, sells and promotes fleece wool and the only remaining agricultural commodity board in the UK.
Its stand at the show demonstrates the grading and selling of wool, through to wool promotion and work with the Campaign for Wool to promote wool to a global market.
"The British Wool Marketing Board is the only producer organisation in the UK which is active at every level of the supply chain, providing training to novice shearers and helping to maximise the price farmers receive for their wool," explained Mark Powell, the chief operating officer.
"Unfortunately, the continuing uncertainties in the world economy mean wool prices have been lower than expected over the recent selling season, but an increase in demand in the early part of this year has helped to offset that and we are hopeful of continuing price improvements."
