Crews tackle kitchen fire in student flat

Fire crews have extinguished a small blaze in the third floor of student accommodation at the University of Plymouth. Appliances from Plymstock and Camels Head were called to the building at 10.47am yesterday. On arrival crews found there was a small fire in the third-floor kitchen, which was tackled by two firefighters. A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said the cause of the fire was believed to be accidental.
