Police were called to a report of bombs being found near homes in a village near Crediton on Saturday afternoon. Police, fire crew and paramedics all attended the scene in a lane in Lapford, after a member of the public had reported he found homemade explosives. Once the police arrived they found bottles with liquid inside them but after further inspection both the fire crew and the officers were satisfied the objects were not bombs. It is unknown at this stage what the liquid inside was.
