An historic but threatened tidal swimming pool in Cornwall has been thrown a lifeline in the form of a £15,000 grant. Friends of Bude Sea Pool, formed two years ago after cuts prompted fears for the pool, received the vital injection from the Aviva Broker Community Fund, after being nominated by local firm Courtenay Insurance Services. The volunteer group's plans for the 1930s cliff-side pool, which is topped up twice a day by the sea, were chosen from 25 finalists.
