A LOCAL man has died after a crash on the A30 at Loggans, near Hayle, at the weekend.
The fatal accident, at 3am on Saturday, involved a single vehicle, a green Jaguar XJ Sport, which ended up on its roof.
The driver of the vehicle, a 38-year-old man from Hayle, was pronounced dead at the scene and his passenger, a 33-year-old woman, also from the town, was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro with minor injuries.
The Hayle bypass was closed to traffic for nearly 11 hours while Devon and Cornwall Police's serious collisions investigations unit examined the scene. Firefighters and ambulance crews also attended.
Next of kin have been informed but a police spokeswoman said no details about the dead man would be released until a formal identification has taken place.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle in the minutes before the accident is being asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police on 101 quoting log number 0129 of May 25.
