Organisers of Newquay's Run To The Sun weekend said a record-breaking 25,000 people attended a motor show at the airport yesterday. The annual three-day event also attracted 5,000 revellers to Trevelgue holiday park. Organiser Mike Finnegan said the "show and shine" event, featuring Volswagen vehicles and custom cars, was the biggest so far. "The weekend has been a fantastic success, cold at night but lovely and sunny in the day," he added. Police yesterday said the event had passed off peacefully with not a single connected arrest.
