A CLIMBER had to be rescued after falling around 20 feet from rocks in west Penwith.
The man, believed to be aged around 65, was with a group when he tumbled from Vessacks rocks between Porthchapel and Porthgwarra. He is believed to have broken his ankle.
The Land's End coastguard cliff rescue team was dispatched to the scene at around 2pm on Saturday.
A helicopter from RNAS Culdrose, on an exercise in St Ives, was also diverted to the accident site.
The man, thought to be from Praa Sands, was winched into the helicopter and taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Truro for treatment.
