Firefighters spent over 90 minutes tackling a fire in a large area of pine needles on Exmoor. Crews from Minehead, Porlock and Nether Stowey were called in at 9.30am yesterday by a park ranger to the Grabbist Hill area of Dunster. They found that approximately 12 square metres of pine needles and undergrowth were smouldering and the fire was deep seated. Crews got to work using pump and shovels to dig out the affected areas. The fire was extinguished at 11.05am.
