Fire crews tackle blaze in first-floor flat

Two fire crews from Minehead, Somerset, were faced with a late-night fire in a first-floor flat on Townsend Road in the resort. Firefighters were called to the three-storey house at 11.30pm on Wednesday. Officers wearing breathing sets used two jets to tackle the fire in a bathroom. A thermal imaging camera was used to check the fire had not spread. Damage was described as "moderate" and contained to the bathroom, although there was smoke damage in the rest of the flat.
