A 20-YEAR-OLD woman who was involved in a car crash near Lostwithiel last week has now died.
Emma Lancaster, who was from Looe, had her life support machine switched off on Friday.
Her Fiat Punto was involved in a single-vehicle collision last Monday, October 8, just outside Lostwithiel, past Downend Garage.
Her car left the road on a right hand bend, crossed the carriageway and collided with a tree.
The road was closed for more than 18 hours while police carried out their investigations into the cause of the crash.
Miss Lancaster suffered severe injuries as a result of the impact and was taken to Derriford Hospital, Plymouth.
She was the only occupant in the vehicle.
A police spokesman confirmed the news of her death earlier today.
"It is with regret that the 20 year old woman involved in this collision had her life support machine switched off on Friday.
"Our thoughts are with Emma's family and friends."
Her friends have taken to social media to pay tribute to her, with one saying: "RIP to Emma Lancaster taken from us at such a young age may you rest in the Isles of the Blessed."
