The owner of land where a motorbike event sparked anger from residents unhappy about the noise has vowed it will never be staged there again.
Sam Parker, who runs Callestick Farm and Ice Cream, gave Cornwall Motorcross Club permission to host its event on land in Bolingey on April 7.
Following the day long racing which started at around 9.30am Cornwall councillor Michael Callan was inundated with more than 50 complaints.
He said: "I had emails from residents who were upset at the noise from the motorbikes. I could hear it from my home in Rose near Goonhavern."
Resident, Andy Lay said: "Bolingey erupted with the full scale screaming roar of motor bikes at full throttle racing across the fields.
"The noise continued almost unabated until about 4pm, around six hours. It became an assault on the senses and shredded any sense of a peaceful Sunday. It could be heard quite clearly at Bolenna by a friend of mine, at least 1km from the site."
Mr Lay said villagers were shocked that the event could take place without prior notice and they were concerned that the club would be returning for further fixtures throughout the year.
Mr Parker told the West Briton: "It's an open valley and the noise obviously echoed for miles around and could be heard in Perranporth. I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused. If we had realised it was going to cause so much noise and offence I would never have agreed to it. We have not signed a contract with the club, they will not be using the site again."
