A man, who was unable to find his wallet because he was intoxicated rang 999 to say he had been mugged. The 28-year-old Ilfracombe man rang police around 8pm on Wednesday to report the 'theft'. Police rushed to the scene on St James Place and found the man "very intoxicated". But after a quick search officers found the missing wallet in his pocket. The man did not face any charges as police said he "genuinely believed he had been robbed".
