THE Chairman of the Council of the Isles of Scilly has died.
Mike Hicks passed away peacefully in his sleep at St Mary's Hospital, Isles of Scilly, this morning.
He had recently been diagnosed with cancer.
Speaking to The Cornishman today, his loved ones said Mr Hicks had lived a good and happy life and was very proud of his family.
His funeral is due to take place at the end of next week.
