A partnership between five Cornish galleries has led to a grant of more than £250,000 for a one-year programme of work.
The For Cornwall partnership is between Falmouth Art Gallery, the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, Royal Cornwall Museum Truro, Penlee House Gallery and Museum and Porthcurno Telegraph Museum.
The group, which initially did not include Truro's museum, was established last year and has already carried out Arts Council England funded work worth more than £110,000.
Its latest funding of £253,00 from the Arts Council will be spent on 16 partnership projects to help the venues become more sustainable, extend their activities and help the museum sector.
This will include a tourism marketing campaign, education projects, fundraising and income-earning projects, energy conservation and collections work.
Alison Bevan, director of Penlee and leader of the partnership, said: "The benefits of partnership working are obvious and we are trying to spread those benefits to other museums within the county.
"People in other parts of the country have begun to notice and are seeking to emulate our approach.
"We want to show the world that a group of diverse museums, scattered across the county, can demonstrate excellence."
