Crews from three fire stations were called to Falmouth Docks last night to reports of a blaze on board the RFA Argus.
The call, regarding a fire in the engine room, was made just before 7pm and crews from Falmouth, Truro and Redruth were sent to the scene.
A number of the team went on board with a member of the ship's crew and found that welding had caused a rag to catch fire, but fortunately it was already out.
The area was inspected to ensure it was safe.
