CAMBORNE Town Council will not support Lanner Parish Council in its bid to challenge a judicial review that supported a plan to build 25 affordable homes in the village.
The parish council appealed after Cornwall Council granted permission to Coastline Housing for the development.

It claimed the village needed fewer affordable homes and questioned Cornwall Council's interpretation of a planning policy.

But the judge found in Cornwall Council's favour, clearing the way for the development after a delay of more than a year.

Last night Camborne Town Council agreed to note Lanner's request for support but take no further action.

Talking at the meeting, Councillor Robert Webber said: "I am not going to support this because they would have to show the decision was perverse and it was not.

"There's a financial risk to the council involved in it and I can't see them succeeding."
