Truro City's already slim hopes of avoiding relegation from Blue Square Bet South have suffered a massive blow with the news that top scorer Kieffer Moore seems set to join league rivals Dorchester Town.
Moore has been a revelation in his first season at this level scoring 13 goals, including City's winner in their 2-1 victory at Hayes & Yeading Utd yesterday, a victory which ended a run of five successive defeats.
But his scoring exploits have understandably attracted the attentions of clubs and he now seems set to join other former City players Arran Pugh and Dan Green at the Dorset club who Truro entertain on Tuesday week.
Club chairman Peter Masters confirmed on Sunday evening that the club had received an approach from Dorchester for Moore and that the striker had told them he would be joining them.
And via his Twitter account Masters added: "Received information at midnight it spoilt what was a good day for Truro City supporters and the team on and off the pitch." The departure of Moore will leave a massive gap for City boss Lee Hodges to fill, with Stewart Yetton still on the injured list.
Veteran Barry Hayles would look the obvious replacement up front unless the club can bring in a replacement ahead of this Saturday's visit of Staines Town.
