A bungalow was left badly damaged by fire and smoke after a blaze broke out on Saturday afternoon. Firefighters were called to the property at Wiveliscombe in Somerset just before 4pm. One crew from the village and two from Wellington attended the incident but on arrival the bungalow was found to be well alight and a further three fire engines were summoned from Taunton. Just over two hours after the first callout, crews said they were making steady progress extinguishing the fire in the house, which was empty at the time. The cause of the fire is unknown.
