Padstow inshore lifeboat crew have recovered a body near Stepper Point.
There is local speculation that it could be that of retired priest the Reverend Barry Kinsmen who disappeared on New Year's Eve.
The body was recovered from a collapsed cave known as Butter Hole at around 2.45pm yesterday afternoon.
A police spokesman said their enquiries were ongoing into the identity of the deceased, but were not treating the discovery as suspicious, and the coroner had been informed.
The Rev. Kinsmen's blue Ford Ka was found abandoned with a note inside at Porthmissen, near to Stepper Point on New Year's Eve.
He lived in Padstow and was a popular member of the local community.
